Dalia Raafat is a Robotics Engineer at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) in California, where she contributes to the development of advanced robotic systems for space exploration.
She holds a Master’s degree in Mechatronics Engineering from the University of Genoa, earned summa cum laude in March 2023. During her academic journey, Dalia had the unique opportunity to complete her thesis at JPL under the mentorship of Michelle Easter, Mechatronics Engineer for the Mars Sample Return mission.
There, she designed, modeled, fabricated, assembled, and tested a sample containment and release mechanism intended for future Mars missions. With a deep passion for space robotics, Dalia continues to push the boundaries of innovation, working on technologies that will help shape the future of planetary exploration.
