Lorenzo Pasquini for Inspiration Valley - Exploring aging and emotion neuroscience
Show Notes

Experience the highlights of our webinar in collaboration with Silicon Valley Study Tour, Innovit - Italian Innovation and Culture Hub, ITA - Italian Trade Agency and Silicon Valley Fellowship, where Lorenzo Pasquini shared his experience as as Assistant professor in aging and emotion neuroscience.

In 2016, he successfully completed his Ph.D. in Medical Life Science and Technology at the Technical University of Munich. He used neuroimaging to study brain changes in Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias.

He joined the UCSF Memory and Aging Center in 2016 as a postdoctoral fellow.
He utilized fMRI and autonomic physiology to explore the neural basis of emotions and social behavior in older adults and patients with dementia.

He joined University of California, San Francisco Neuroscape as a faculty in 2022, where he explores the neural basis of emotional well-being in older adults. A primary aim of his research is to develop tailored interventions, either behavioral (e.g. closed-loop meditation) or pharmacological (e.g. psilocybin), to target those brain systems that support emotions and social behavior in older adults.

In his work, he combines sophisticated data analysis techniques, such as dynamic connectivity and brain connectivity gradients to better understand how the brain and the body interact to support emotional well-being in older adults.

Don’t miss the upcoming sessions of Inspiration Valley, a virtual journey where you’ll hear the stories of Italians working in Silicon Valley and around the world.
